A picture showing how we should donate and give to the poor.

My name is Madison Weinrich and I will be reviewing chapters one and two of Outlive Your Life.  In these chapter I think that the theme is serving.  The evidence is in chapter one where is says, There is enough food on the planet to offer every person twenty-five hundred calories of sustenance a day, ( Outlive Your Life 6).  So this evidence tells us that we are able to serve the  people without food.  Another piece of evidence is from chapter two where it says, Nicholas Winton raised funds and found foster homes.  This goes with the theme because it talks about how we can serve people by helping them out, and how just average people can help.  I think that the author’s main points in chapters one and two is that he is telling us that we are cable of serving we had the things to serve.  This connects to the theme about serving because of how the authors main points talk about us being able to serve.   He is also trying to tell is that anyone can serve people, which  connects to the theme of serving.  There are ideas implied about how God uses ordinary people.  The idea is implied because the author tries telling us that we have enough food to serve people so why don’t don’t we serve people who need it.  I think that the authors goal was to tell us that we are able to serve God and I think and I think he did achieve it by telling us that regular people with not very much are able to serve and everybody else is able to serve as well.

Dear gracious and forgiving Lord, You called me into your kingdom to serve your people.  I ask that you please show us people that we can serve your people.  I would also also ask that you please teach us that we have all the things we need to serve people and that all of those things come from you.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.

My name is Madison Weinrich and I will be reviewing chapter 9 of Outlive Your Life.  I think the theme in chapter 9 is Hypocrisy and the evidence  I have to support this is on page 92 where is says, “To be seen by men”, (Outlive Your Life pg.92).  It goes with hypocrisy because the chapter is talking about how hypocrisy is when people want to be seen by men just to be appreciated and for people to want public acceptance.  The authors main points is that he is trying to tell us that God doesn’t like hypocrisy because hypocrisy turn us away from god.  This connect to the theme because it talks about hypocrisy.  I don’t think that there are any ideas being implied because the author already stated the ideas that he is trying to say.  It think the authors goal is to tell us what hypocrisy means in a way that we wouldn’t think about and how God doesn’t like hypocrisy. I think the author accomplished this goal because on page 90 and 91 where is say that Ananias’ body wasn’t taken out and was buried then of page 91 it say that Sapphira’s body was taken out and was buried.  Which I think is evidence because it tells me that God knows when you are being a hypocrite and that their is punishments when you want to much public acceptance.

Dear loving Lord, I ask that you please teach us that we don’t need to be a hypocrite to get public acceptance.  Teach us also to not lie to you and know that you will always know the truth.  I ask that you please be with us when we are being a hypocrite and guide us to do the right thing.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.

My name is Madison Weinrich and I will be reviewing chapter 10 of Outlive Your Life.  I think the theme of this chapter is remember the have not’s.  The evidence I give for this in chapter 10. Is where it says, “Heal the Broken-hearted,”(Outlive Your Life pg 102).  This gives evidence because it talks about how we should care and love the poor which connects to the theme about the have not’s.  I think the author’s main points are how God’s main targets in the world are the poor and that relates to the theme about how we should care for the have not’s.  Another main point is about how we should care for the poor as well and teach them the gospel and that connects to the main theme because we should help and give to the have not’s.  I think that there is an idea being implied about how we have more than the poor and that we should give some of that to the poor.  He gives us this idea because he wants us to share what we have because we have plenty.  I think the authors goal was to tell us about how the world is unfair and how the rich have the better half and that the poor don’t have very much so we are unequal, and I think that the author did achieve this goal.

Dear Holy Father, I ask that you teach us to love everyone and not just ourselves.  teach us to not forget about the have not’s.  Guide us in a way that we can give to the poor and to the have not’s.  Teach us that you love the have not and that he wants to heal them.  I ask that you please work in us to heal and help the have not’s.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Outlive Your Life Illustrates the book of acts more current by Outlive Your Life talking about the current day about how we should serve people in current world today.  The book of acts talks about how we should serve all people now matter what religion they are and the current book of acts talks about serving all people in the world.  The book of acts also talks about how back then they didn’t have a lot of food in the world to serve people but they still served other people.  While in the current version of acts we have the things to serve but we don’t always serve.  The new day acts is telling us something about how we should let God unshell us for that we can open up to new people.  In the older acts it doesn’t tell us about God unshelling us.

I don’t think that I have Outlived my life prior to this unit because before this unit I wasn’t really thinking about serving and I wasn’t really thinking about outliving my life.  Before this I didn’t really serve people or give to people I never thought about giving to people much and I never really let God unshell me much and I never new what a hypocrite is.  Now I know what a hypocrite is and that God knows when we are being a hypocrite and I used to never call myself a hypocrite but know in this unit I learned that we are all hypocrites.  Some general ways I see this happening is because I see myself not giving to people as much as I should.  Another general way I see this happening because I know that when I do serve I know that I could do this more often because I know that i have the material to do more serving.

A action that were most exciting as the Holy Spirit worked through me is when I went to dare to share this year and I got to go out to collect donations to give to people who need it and that was exciting because I know that the food was going to a good cause and I got to go out and ask people for the caned foods.  Another exciting thing I did is when I went out with my church to go to the Al timers nursing home to color with some old folks.  Which was exciting because I got to meet new people while going out to serve them.   In the future some plans that also sound is exciting is going on a mission trip with a church somewhere to serve other people.  It sounds exciting because you get to go out and help people and you get to go meet new people and preach to them.

The first verse is in Mark 6:34 where it say, ” When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a Shepard.”  I can connect this to my life because I know that Jesus is my Shepard and that I can have compassion for other to.  I chose this verse because I like the part where it talks about how Jesus is my Shepard but some people don’t know that God is their Shepard.  I can apply this verse to this unit because the verse talks about how God is our Shepard  and in the unit we talked about how the triune God guides us.  The second verse is in Romans 15:7 where it says, “Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.”  I can connect this verse to my life because the verse tells me to accept all people and so in life I should accept all people and not avoid the people I don’t like.  I chose this verse because I like how it says that when we accept all people we glorify God.  I can apply this to this unit because it talks about accepting everyone and in this unit we talked about how everyone is equal and that we shouldn’t judge people.

One thing that is clearer in the AD movie is how in Acts they talk about how Ananias came to Saul to help him and in the movie it is clearer because they show what Ananias does there and it is clearer to understand what is happening.  Another thing that is clearer in the AD movie is how in acts they talk about how Peter talks to the Lame beggar and in the AD movie they show that all of the disciples were with peter and John when they gave to the Lame Beggar. Which is different from the book because the book didn’t talk about having all of the disciples with peter and John. The last thing that is clear from the AD movie is how in the book of acts they talk about how the priest told the disciples that they wouldn’t be jailed if they stop preaching and in the AD movie they say the same thing to the disciples but they the disciples say that they will still preach, like how in the book of acts they don’t tell the priest that they will still preach.
